# Network Time

Network Time keeps the Shark Jack Display clock accurate by syncing it with an NTP server.

Accurate time matters for SSL connections, software updates, and payload logs. If the device clock is wrong, secure downloads and other network operations may fail.

By default, Network Time is disabled. Enable it when the Shark Jack Display has Internet access and you want the system time set automatically at boot.

## Enable Network Time

1. Enter **Arming Mode**
2. Open **Settings** → **Advanced**
3. Open **Boot Settings** → **Services**
4. Select **Network Time**
5. Set it to **Enabled**

Once enabled, the Shark Jack Display will set the system time automatically at boot when it has Internet access.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Network Time requires Internet connectivity. If the Shark Jack Display is offline, the clock will not sync.
{% endhint %}

If you need Internet access first, follow [Getting the Shark Jack Online](/shark-jack-display/getting-the-shark-jack-online.md).
